#4 Northwestern over #1 Washington

Northwestern barely sneaked by Akron after their two point win in the first round of the NIT Tournament. Washington had a much easier game playing Texas-Arlington. This will be a much tougher game for the Washington Huskies. John Shurna was the engine for the Northwestern Wildcats in their first round game as he had a double-double with twenty-three points and eleven rebounds. Northwestern also had two other players in double digit points (Drew Crawford and JerShon Cobb). I am not saying this will be an easy game for Northwestern, but I feel that they will play good enough defense to keep Washington’s Terrence Reed from hurting them in the scoring department.

#3 Oregon over #7 Iowa

Oregon played an amazing game against LSU in the first round of the NIT Tournament. Devoe Joseph finally showed up as the leader of the team that should of been playing in the Pac-12 Conference Tournament. In the game, Joseph had twenty-five points and six assists, but he was not the only player that showed up for Oregon in the first round. If Oregon wants to beat Iowa in the second round of the NIT Tournament, they will need the same kind of performance from Tony Woods. Tony Woods is a guy that the Oregon Ducks have been hoping to get at least ten points a game from. However, he has only be averaging about six points a game. In the game against LSU, Woods had fourteen points on six baskets and two free throws. Tony Woods will have to be a key part of the offense if the Oregon Ducks want to beat Iowa. In the end, I believe Oregon can pick up the win here in the second round of the NIT Tournament.
