Virginia Tech offers Derrell Scott
2014 running back Derrell Scott received an offer from Virginia Tech, which brings a future running back that the Oregon Ducks are targeting’s offer list to four. South Carolina, East Carolina, and UNC have all sent offers to the running back from Havelock, North Carolina.
Other teams interested in Derrell Scott are Alabama, N.C. State, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. The Ducks are always looking for talented running backs, and the 5’10”, 180 pound Scott would definitely fit in with the Ducks. Most of the teams interested in him are either from Carolina or are east coast ACC/SEC schools in the mix. Most of them are big schools, with Alabama, South Carolina, and Texas headlining that list. Oregon is always in the mix for a running back recruit on a national scale and have the recruiting guns to show for it, so obtaining the talented Derrell Scott is well within reach.
There obviously isn’t a front-runner to this point, and there isn’t really much of a front-runner right now. The teams driving the hardest for Derrell Scott are in-Carolina schools, and the offer from Virginia Tech was the first out-of-Carolina offer that he has received. This will open up the door for more offers for Derrell Scott, and he should be ready for some big suitors later this year. He looks like a four-star recruit right now and is regarded as one of the top running back prospects in the 2014 recruiting class.
