Joseph, Ashaolu to Participate in All-Star Game, Dunk Contest

Two seniors from the Oregon men’s basketball team will have something extra to look forward to before their college careers conclude.
Devoe Joseph and Olu Ashaolu, both raised in Toronto, Ontario, will be participating in college basketball’s postseason events surrounding the Final Four. Ashaolu will be participating in the State Farm College Slam Dunk and 3-Point Championships this Thursday night while Joseph will be playing in the Reese’s Division I College All-Star Game this Friday afternoon.
Ashaolu will be one of seven players competing in the dunk contest. Some recent highlights include this dunk from the game against Utah in a 94-48 rout on March 3rd. Another is from an early 83-76 win in Nebraska back on November 23rd. The forward averaged 8.5 points and 5.1 rebounds a game this season, but totaled 42 points and 15 rebounds in his last two games against Iowa and Washington in the NIT.
The event will take place at Tulane’s Fogelman Arena on Thursday night at 6:00 p.m. PT. It will be covered live on ESPN after the NIT Championship game concludes.
Joseph will be representing the West team in the All-Star Game. The guard led the team in points, averaging 16.7 a game, and carried a high three-point shooting percentage at 41.8 percent.
The game will take place at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans on Friday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. PT. A taped broadcast of the game will be on truTV Saturday at 10:00 a.m. PT.
