The Ducks are coming in losers of their last three games, but Alex Keudell (6-3, 1.98) will return to the starting mound on Friday night. He is coming off of a season-high seven strikeouts in seven innings, only yielding two runs.
Aaron Jones has missed the last eight games with an ankle sprain, and it’s been a crushing blow to the offense. He has the team-high batting average (.314) and Ryon Healy (.291) has finally matched him in team-high RBIs (28). Jones remains to be day-to-day.
A key starter for California is Matt Flemer (6-2, 1.92) who would likely get the start tonight. In 10 games, he has 47 strikeouts compared to only nine walks. Chris Muse-Fisher (2-1, 1.50) has one start out of his 10 appearances and has been solid just giving up five runs (three earned) in 18 innings of total work this season.
Some batters to watch for are Tony Renda (.374) who’s got a team-high 58 hits and Chad Bunting (.262) who is the team leader with 32 RBIs.
