Jordan Sherit, Mike Mitchell Added to Oregon’s Offer List
By Brian Spaen
A couple of four-star recruits have been given an offer from the Oregon football team. The total amount of offers given to the potential 2013 recruiting class has elapsed 40.
According to Derek Tyson, Jordan Sherit was given an offer today in a tweet he sent out hours ago. There hasn’t been any official announcement yet, but Mike Mitchell was added to 247sports’ Oregon offers list and has been listed as being recruited by Don Pellum.
Sherit is a 6-foot-4, 240-pound defensive end from Tampa, Florida. Last season at Hillsborough, he recorded 110 tackles and 14 sacks. 247sports lists him as a Top 247 recruit and is on the Rivals 100.
The reason he may not be listed on the others is the varying among what position they have Sherit listed. When listed as a specific weak-side or strong-side, he’s one of the top 10 in the position. As a standard defensive end, ESPN and Scout have him listed as 16th and 23rd, respectively.
There are 32 offers for Sherit. Others that have offered in the Pac-12 are Arizona, California, and Stanford.
Mitchell is a 6-foot-4, 222-pound outside linebacker from Plaino, Texas. At Prestonwood Christian Academy, he had 151 tackles and eight sacks.
Like Sherit, Mitchell is ranked high across the board. He is all the way up to 133rd in the Top 247 and he’s 138th in ESPN’s Top 150. He is ranked as high as 11th at the position by these same recruiting services.
According to 247sports, Mitchell has Oregon ranked higher than some others that have given him an offer. Ohio State and Vanderbilt are also on this list. Texas-based schools like Baylor, TCU, and Texas A&M, are in a level preferred over that.
