Friday the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska begins with the field being whittled down to eight teams. Making it to TD Ameritrade Park Omaha were three SEC teams, two from the Pac-12, one from ACC, America East and MAC.

Game 1 – Stony Brook Seawolves (52-13/America East) v. 2 UCLA Bruins (47-14/Pac-12), 2 pm/ESPN2
Pick: UCLA, is my pick in what should be a balanced close match-up to begin the CWS.
Game 2 – Arizona Wildcats (43-17/Pac-12) v. 3 Florida State Seminoles (48-15/ACC), 6 pm/ESPN2
Pick: Arizona, the Wildcats are better built for TDAPO than FSU. So that’s my pick.

Game 3 – Kent State Golden Flashes (46-18/MAC) v. Arkansas Razorbacks (44-20/SEC), 2 pm/ESPN
Pick: Kent State, the Flashes have the mental toughness to tune out everyone saying “they won’t win in Omaha.”
Game 4 – 8 South Carolina Gamecocks (45-17/SEC) v. 1 Florida Gators (47-18/SEC), 6 pm/ESPN
Pick: Florida, a rematch of last year’s CWS championship series which the Gamecocks won but I like the Gators here.

Pick: Stony Brook, another team that’s fought against the odds sends home one of the favorites, Florida State.
Game 6 – Arizona Wildcats v. 2 UCLA Bruins, 6 pm/ESPN2
Pick: UCLA, these Pac-12 foes meet up in Omaha but I like the Bruins to keep it going in this winners’ bracket contest.

Pick: South Carolina, sends home Dave Van Horn’s club in this SEC elimination game.
Game 8 – Kent State Golden Flashes v. 1 Florida Gators, 6 pm/ESPN2
Pick: Florida, the Gators will continue to flex their muscle as they take out the Flashes.

Pick: South Carolina, the Gamecocks force the extra elimination game on Friday with this win.

Pick: UCLA, having Friday and Saturday off the Bruins get to reset the pitching which proves to be the difference.

Championship Series Game 2 – 2 UCLA Bruins v. 1 Florida Gators, 5 pm/ESPN
Pick: UCLA, as the trend has been the past four CWS finals it will be quick with the more rested team getting the win and the Bruins adding another championship to the trophy case with their first baseball title.
