Will Oregon Offer Jayme Otomewo?
By Brian Spaen
Oregon is still in the hunt to acquire top safety, Max Redfield, but another safety has popped on the radar. Jayme Otomewo could be the Ducks’ fifth safety offered in the 2013 recruiting class.
Chris Courtney, part of Scout.com’s eDuck, reports that “Otomewo says he remains in weekly contact with Oregon” via his Twitter account. The football recruit is “looking to pick up a few more Pac-12 offers, including one from one of his favorites,” as stated at the beginning of his story at eDuck. Oregon would likely be that favored school.
California, USC, and UCLA are also interested in the recruit but have yet to offer him, according to 247Sports. Teams that have already offered him are Arizona State, Colorado, and San Jose State.
Otomewo is a 6-foot-2, 185-pound safety from Los Angeles, California. The three-star recruit is ranked as high as 27th in his position on ESPN’s recruiting service. According to MaxPreps, he had 67 total tackles in his eight games he played at Dorsey last season. Here is a video of some of Otomewo’s highlights during that year.
