Football Recruiting: Oregon One of Top Schools for James Quick
The Oregon Ducks have moved into the top three possible destinations for James Quick of Louisville, Kentucky. Quick is 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds from Trinity High School. He is the 71st rated prospect by 247Sports.com, the seventh best wide receiver and the second prospect in Kentucky.
He has narrowed his college options to Louisville, Ohio State and Oregon. He is an extremely quick receiver as was the champion in the 200 meter dash in his freshman and sophomore years. He was the first freshman ever to start on the football team at Trinity in 2009. In his freshman season he caught 25 passes for 473 yards and five scores.
As a sophomore, Quick caught 88 balls for 1,114 yards and fifteen touchdowns. His numbers decreased last season as he had 69 catches but he had more yards with 1,206 and one more score (16). Rivals.com ranks him as the 30th best wide receiver, the best prospect in Kentucky and the 207th recruit nationally. He has been given a four-star rating.
Another receiver the Ducks are currently looking at is Juwaan Williams of Georgia. Williams attends Tucker High School in Tucker, Georgia. Williams is 6-foot and 181 pounds. He is the 171st rated prospect by 247Sports.com, the 79th receiver and the 61st recruit in Georgia.
Williams is a three-star recruit by Rivals.com who lists him as an athlete. They have him ranked as the 22nd athlete in the country and the 27th prospect in Georgia. Williams has offers from 16 schools but has only committed to visit Oregon and Notre Dame thus far. He is scheduled to visit the Ducks in October.
247Sports.com also has a story on how the Ducks could soon by giving a formal offer to CB/RB Dashon Hunt. Hunt is 5-foot-9 and 175 pounds from Thousand Oaks, California. He currently attends Westlake High School. 247Sports.com lists him as the 35th best cornerback in the country and the 40th overall prospect in California. He currently holds eleven offers including Pac-12 schools like Arizona, Arizona State, California, Colorado, Oregon State, UCLA, Washington and Washington State.
