Seventeen former Oregon Ducks were on NFL rosters tonight in preseason action.  There were six games played on Friday night in the third week of the preseason.  The most Ducks could be found on the roster of the Seattle Seahawks who defeated the Kansas City Chiefs by a score of 44-14.

Wide receiver Lavasier Tuinei, center Max Unger and cornerback Walter Thurmond.  Unger is the starting center and Thurmond is currently on the Physically Unable to Perform list.  Tuinei is currently battling for a roster spot but did not have any statistics in the game.  Defensive lineman Brandon Bair is on the Chiefs roster but he too did not register any stats.

The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Cleveland Browns by a 27-10 score led by cornerback Cliff Harris.  Harris had an interception and one tackle in the Eagles win.  Casey Matthews is listed as the backup middle linebacker according to the Eagles website but he didn’t post any tackles in the game.  T.J. Ward had one tackle for the Browns in defeat.

Two former Ducks played in the game featuring the Atlanta Falcons and Miami Dolphins.  Drew Davis is fighting for a job as a wide receiver and he was targeted once in the Falcons 23-6 win.  Josh Kaddu had one tackle for the Dolphins.

LeGarrette Blount rushed for 22 yards on seven carries for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their 30-28 win against the New England Patriots.  Patrick Chung is the starting strong safety for New England while Darrion Weems is listed as the third-string left tackle.

Nick Reed had a big night for the Minnesota Vikings in a two point loss to the San Diego Chargers.  Reed had one tackle, one sack, one tackle for a loss and a quarterback hit during the Chargers 12-10 victory.  Geoff Schwartz is also a lineman for Minnesota.  Dante Rosario is listed as the third-string tight end for the Chargers.

The defending Super Bowl Champion New York Giants lost to the Chicago Bears by a 20-17 score.  The loss could not be contributed to the play of linebacker Spencer Paysinger.  Singer, who is listed as the third-string weak-side linebacker had five tackles on the night.  Matt Toeaina is a starting defensive tackle for the Bears.

There are five more games to be played on Saturday and week three of the preseason will conclude with an additional two games on Sunday.
