Pac-12 Football Recap – Week Two
By Mike Vamosi
This past weekend served notice that the Pac-12 conference might be ready for primetime. As a whole the conference went 9-3 (losses @Utah State, to Sacramento State and @3LSU) but did include a perfect record against the Big Ten and Big XII conferences. Here are all the results of the weekend for Pac-12 teams.

Friday, September 7
Utah (1-1) 20 @ Utah State (2-0) 27 F/OT – Utah fell behind 13-0 before they got things going in Logan, Utah State however got the victory in overtime.
Saturday, September 8
Sacramento State (1-1) 30 @ Colorado (0-2) 28 – This is the biggest stain on what was a great weekend for the conference. The Hornets stung the Buffs in the final seconds with a FG.
Southern Utah (0-2) 31 @ California (1-1) 50 – After a disappointing loss week one Cal bounced back by taking out FCS member Southern Utah at home.
Eastern Washington (1-1) 20 @ Washington State (1-1) 24 – Win number one of the Mike Leach era happened in the Pouluz but the Cougars held on for the win despite not scoring in the second half.
2 Southern California (2-0) 42 @ Syracuse (0-2) 29 – The Trojans were never in trouble in this game but beating the Orange by 13 points is concerning right?
13 Wisconsin (1-1) 7 @ Oregon State (1-0) 10 – Oregon State pulled off what must be considered its patented home upset. The Beavers held Montee Ball of the Badgers to 61 yards and out of the endzone which hadn’t been in a long time.
Fresno State (1-1) 25 @ 4 Oregon (2-0) 42 – The Ducks trailed 3-0 early before scoring at will against the Bulldogs. Oregon did suffer a big injury in the secondary which bears keeping an eye on.
Washington (1-1) 3 @ 3 LSU (2-0) 41 – Washington led 3-0 before the Tigers roared back with 41 unanswered points. Hopefully the Huskies took plenty of pictures of the scoreboard with the lead.
16 Nebraska (1-1) 30 @ UCLA (2-0) 36 – Jim Mora’s team continues to impress and is playing with confidence not seen in years. The Bruins racked up 600 plus yards for the second straight week.
18 Oklahoma State (1-1) 38 @ Arizona (2-0) 59 – What a difference a week makes, after struggling to beat Toledo in overtime the ‘Cats rolled the ‘Pokes in Tucson. Even more impressive is that OK State put up 84 points last week which Arizona held the Cowboys well under.
Illinois (1-1) 14 @ Arizona State (2-0) 45 – Give ASU credit for buying into what head coach Todd Graham is selling them in Tempe during their 2-0 start. Illinois isn’t a patsy like the week one opponent so this was a solid win for the Devils.
Duke (1-1) 13 @ 25 Stanford (2-0) 50 – After struggling to beat San Jose State week one I think people could’ve forgiven Stanford to looking forward to Southern Cal next week. The Cardinal rolled the Dukies and have the needed confidence for next week’s showdown.
