Pac-12 Football Recap – Week Six

Another week and which had another whopping by the Oregon Ducks who continue to race towards Miami, Florida. Southern Cal and Utah started play on Thursday with an entertaining game in Salt Lake City. Stanford and Arizona had the game of the weekend in a high scoring contest in Palo Alto.
Oregon State remained unbeaten taking down Washington State in Corvallis. California rose from the dead and took their frustration out on UCLA. Oregon continued its mastery of Washington with a big win at Autzen.

Thursday, October 4
13 Southern California (4-1, 2-1) 38 @ Utah (2-3, 0-2) 28 – The Utes went out 14-0 then were up 21-10 before Southern Cal scored two TD’s taking a 24-21 halftime lead. Matt Barkley went 23-of-30 for 303 with three touchdown passes. Marqise Lee caught 12 passes for 192 yards with one score.
Saturday, October 6
Arizona (3-3, 0-3) 48 @ 18 Stanford (4-1, 2-1) 54 F/OT – Stanford lead 7-0 after the first quarter than the points came by the plenty. Arizona scored 35 points in the second half with the Cardinal putting up 34 before scoring six in OT. After forcing an interception Stanford’s Stepfan Taylor ran it in for 21-yards on their first play of overtime. Josh Nunes, was 21-of-34 for 360 yards two touchdown passes plus three scores on the ground.
Washington State (2-4, 0-3) 6 @ 14 Oregon State (4-0, 3-0) 19 – In the first half both teams combined for nine points on three field goals. Oregon State scored 13 points in the second half to win going away. Both teams also combined for eight turnovers (Wazzu 5 and OSU 3). Sean Mannion came down to earth with three interceptions in the winning effort.
25 UCLA (4-2, 1-2) 17 @ California (2-4, 1-2) 43 – Saturday night Cal seemed to take its frustration of the last three weeks out on UCLA in Berkeley. The Bruins led 7-3 after the first quarter but the Bears went on to outscore the road team 40-10. Zach Maynard was 25-of-30 for 295 yards four TD’s with one interception.
23 Washington (3-2, 1-1) 21 @ 2 Oregon (6-0, 3-0) 52 – Oregon raced out to a 21-0 lead and took a 35-7 lead to the locker-room. Kenjon Barner rushed for 122 yards on 20 carries but didn’t reach the endzone. De’Anthony Thomas had 75 yards on 10 carries with a score in addition to one catch for 12 yards. The Ducks outgained their neighbors to the North 497-353 in total yards.
