Ducks Roundtable: Will Oregon be overconfident against USC?

facebooktwitterreddit

Last Saturday, USC suffered an upset against Arizona. They lost 39-36 and gave up 588 total yards (most of the season so far). With Oregon’s offense humming on all cylinders and blowing out the Pac-12 so far, are you worried that the Ducks may go into the game overconfident?

Mike: I don’t think Oregon will enter this game overconfident at all because of what happened last season in Eugene. Chip Kelly would be wise to hype this game as a business trip; take care of business and everything is still in front of them. Also, Southern Cal will play as a wounded animal because their goals shrink by the week so I believe that will push the Ducks.

Joe: I don’t think Oregon is going to underestimate the team that really gave them a big blow last season. USC isn’t going to be underestimated by the team, but there is a reason to be concerned about USC suddenly going off after a loss.

Ricky: Not at all. If you look at Mariota’s comments, you will see that he and the Ducks did not look past Colorado when they played the Buffs this week. I feel the Ducks will come out and treat the Trojans like they should. Will the Ducks win? Yes, but they will not go easy on USC this week.

Raymond: The Ducks won’t go into the game overconfident because as we’ve seen in the Pac-12 all year you never know what’s going to happen.  If they want to remain in the BCS National Championship picture they have to win this game.
