Oregon Ducks Volleyball: Team Defeats Northern Colorado
The Oregon Ducks defeated Northern Colorado in volleyball action last night to open the first round of the NCAA Volleyball Tournament. The Ducks are currently ranked fifth in the country with their 26-4 record. They defeated the Bears 3-0 with scores of 25-14, 25-19 and 25-18 at Matthew Knight Arena.

Senior Alaina Bergsma led the team in kills with 15 and in points with 17. She also posted a hitting percentage of .483. Junior Lauren Plum led the way as she’s done all year with 40 assists. The team had 44 assists overall.
Sophomore Liz Brenner contributed 13 digs and 11.5 points in the victories. Her 11.5 points placed her second behind Bergsma. Junior Ariana Williams led the Ducks in hitting percentage at .500 and she added 11 points on the night.
Northern Colorado was led by Senior Kelley Arnold who had 12 points in the loss. Fellow senior Marissa Hughes also had a big night with 18 assists and a hitting percentage of .667. The Bears are now 24-11 on the season after winning the Big Sky Conference.
The Ducks will now play Dayton on Saturday night. Dayton defeated Pepperdine 3-2 in the game before the Ducks took the floor. Dayton won the Atlantic 10 Conference this past season. The winner of Oregon and Dayton will move on to the Sweet 16.
