PAC-12 Men’s Basketball Dance Card
By Mike Vamosi
Today the 2013 Pacific 12 basketball tournament begins at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, but how many teams will the conference get into the NCAA tournament? Here is our best guess at who’ll go dancing where.

NCAA Bound –
UCLA Bruins (23-8, 13-5):
Good Wins – Indiana State, James Madison, Long Beach State, Missouri and Arizona (2X)
Bad Losses – @Washington State
Verdict – Winning the regular season title makes the Bruins a virtual lock, but they were once conference play began.
Arizona Wildcats (24-6, 12-5):
Good Wins – Long Beach State, Florida, v. Miami (FL) and v. San Diego State
Bad Losses – None
Verdict – They’ve safely been in for a long time now and will play for seeding in Las Vegas.
Oregon Ducks (23-8, 12-6):
Good Wins – UNLV, Arizona and @UCLA
Bad Losses – @Utah
Verdict – I’m sure the Ducks are sweating it out after dropping two games on the road last week but they seem to of done enough.
California Golden Bears (20-10, 12-6):
Good Wins – Denver, v. Pacific, Oregon (2X), @Arizona, UCLA and Colorado
Bad Losses – Washington, Stanford (2X)
Verdict – Cal seems to a bid locked up since they have good wins and decent losses to @Wisconsin, UNLV, Creighton outside of the conference.
NIT Bound –
Arizona State Sun Devils (20-11, 9-9):
Good Wins – v. Arkansas, Colorado (2X), UCLA and California
Bad Losses – DePaul, Washington (2X) and @Utah
Verdict – Finished the season with four losses seven in their last 10 games probably ends any at-large chance so they’ll need to win the tourney.
Stanford Cardinal (18-13, 9-9):
Good Wins – v. Northern Iowa, Denver, California (2X) and Oregon
Bad Losses – Washington
Verdict – Only one “bad” loss in my opinion with several good ones to Belmont, v. Missouri, v. Minnesota and @North Carolina State outside of league play. It doesn’t seem like they’ve done enough and will be NIT bound to defend that title without winning it all in Vegas this week.
The Others –
Washington (17-4, 9-9) could go anywhere in the postseason from the NCAA, NIT, CBI or CIT but they’ve been up and down. Another contender is Southern California (14-17, 9-9) which I think they need a winning record but the CBI or CIT could take them, they are also a sleeper pick this week.
