In no means is their situation dire, they don’t need to win out to get to the postseason, the Oregon Baseball team is already there, however – when it comes to being a National Seed and Hosting a Super Regional it’s the Bottom of the 9th with 2 outs and they will likely need a hit.

"We’re a little dinged up, not 100 percent, it’s a busy time of the year for all of us…for our resume we had more to gain only if we were successful. If we didn’t feel good about our body of work a this point..I guess the best way to say it if we’re successful I would expect us to be a national seed.  -Coach George Horton on National Seed Hopes"

In the latest Baseball America poll Oregon is sitting at #11, but their RPI is right where it needs to be at 8. The Ducks could use some help from the teams ranked above them, in losing a game or two to boost their chances. Right now as it stands Oregon will host Round 1 next weekend, it’s the Super Regional round the following week that is the question.

"I just think our mindset is back to one game at a time. We have to take care of what we can. -First Baseman Ryon Healy"

The game on Tuesday with Oregon State would have helped Oregon with a victory. As it stands the season series will finish tied and no victor this year for the ‘Claim of the State’. The contest was cancelled due to rain and will not be made up. The Ducks need to sweep Utah this weekend and perhaps hope for some help. When it comes to a committee deciding your fate it’s what you’ve done lately that matters, in some cases more than the overall body of work.
