College World Series Recap –
(Oregon State-Mississippi State): Andrew Moore got his second start of the College World Series against Mississippi State. Moore took a no decision in the CWS opener but allowed four runs on nine hits in just 4.2 innings the second time around. The Beavers fell behind 4-0 highlighted by Hunter Renfroe putting MSU up 4-0 with a three run homer. Oregon State had several opportunities to which they were unable to convert scoring just one run which came when Andy Peterson got an RBI in the sixth. OSU had the tying runs on base as the game ended on a fielder’s choice.

(North Carolina-UCLA): Top seeded North Carolina was trying to win its third elimination game of the week and force another game. UCLA and starter Grant Watson had other ideas as they wanted the rest that went with winning Friday night. The Bruins got on the board first in the second and never looked back after Cody Regis RBI single scored Pat Gallagher. In the sixth UCLA added another run pushing the lead to 2-0, they delivered the knockout blow in the seventh with two more runs coming on a Pat Valaika 2-RBI double. Things got interesting when closer David Berg walked two and allowed two hits before getting the final out with the bases full of Tar Heels. UCLA will play for its second national championship in four seasons losing to South Carolina in 2010.
