Oregon Football: Tight End Colt Lyerla on Watch List for Mackey Award

The preseason watch lists that Ducks are appearing on is starting to build as we get closer to August 31st and the beginning of the season. The lastest name to be mentioned is Tight End Colt Lyerla, who makes the watch list for the Mackey Award given to the Top Tight End in College Football.

According to GoDucks.com Lyerla is among 37 of the nations best on the first round of nominations that includes seven from the Pac 12 Conference. Last season he set the mark for tight ends in the Pac 12 with 15.7 yards per catch average. He also shared the lead for touchdowns with six and was the Ducks third leading receiver in terms of completions and yards.

The Mackey Award winner will be decided throughout the season with the semifinalists announced on November 18th, with finalists announced November 25th. On December 12th it will be presented as part of the Home Depot College Football Awards.
