Oregon Head Coach Mark Helfrich was at ESPN in Bristol yesterday and among the tv and radio folks he spoke with – Chris Fowler, host of College Gameday was one of them.
"I’m very fortunate to be in a place that I love, being from Oregon, a place that I’ve been and my wife’s happy living. Fortunate enough to take over after Chip left, leaving coaches that have been there for 20 years."
Fowler and Helfrich spoke for a few minutes about living in Eugene, family, the Oregon brand and some solid questions about program building and play calling. Fowler also asked Helfrich about the Duck Offense (Manziel vs Mariota) and how Oregon plans to improve.
Helfrich talks about culture and integration from Day 1 and the confidence the team has in each other. Mariota and Thomas entered the discussion and what and how they would use De’Anthony this season.
"We’ll try to get him the ball in as many non traditional ways as possible. – On how they plan to play De’Anthony Thomas"
Oregon Football now turns to Los Angeles and Pac 12 Media Day on Friday. Helfrich will join up with Quarterback Marcus Mariota and Cornerback Ifo Ekpre-Olomu.
