It’s never too early to look ahead and as the 2013 College Football and NFL seasons begin, the 2014 NFL Draft might as well be two blinks away. CBS Sports released it’s ‘Draft Prospect’ List and it is no surprise to see the name Clowney(South Carolina). His legend continues to grow as yesterday, in the first day of Fall Practice he flipped over a workout sled when he was pushing it forward.
The top Quarterback on the list is Teddy Bridgewater from Louisville. Oregon’s Marcus Mariota is nowhere to be found on the list. It is not expected that he will declare for the draft after just two years in college. One area chock full of talent is the Running Back position.
Former Duck Lache Seastrunk(Baylor) is on top with a 1st/2nd round projection. Arizona’s Ka’Deem Karey is second and Oregon’s De’Anthony Thomas is rated third best. Keep in mind we haven’t played a single down of football yet on 2013 so obviously things can change.
In the Wide Receiver category it is not a shock to see USC Wideout Marquise Lee at the top. Oregon’s Josh Huff comes in at 109, and at least made the first page of the rankings. Wide Receiver in my opinion is one small question mark for the Ducks this year. You can find Daryle Hawkins toward the bottom of the list.
On Defense Ifo Ekpre Olomu sets the pace at 27th overall and is slated at a First or Second Round pick. Taylor Hart(Defensive End) also makes the list as a likely 2nd Round pick.
Overall on the list there are 11 Ducks. Ifo Ekpre Olomu(27), De’Anthony Thomas(44), Taylor Hart56), Colt Lyerla(67) , Hronis Grasu(74), Josh Huff(106), Boseko Lokumbo(155), Brian Jackson(223), Wade Keliikipi(309), Ricki Havili-Heimuli(448), and Daryle Hawkins(889).
Oregon kicks off the 2013 Season on August 31st against Nicholls State inside Autzen Stadium at 1pm PT on Fox Sports 1.
