In his first Fall Camp Press Conference as Head Coach Mark Helfrich seemed poised to take over the position. There is something to be said for the investment of $68 million in a new football facility that may cause some to be overwhelmed, but not here.

Helfrich is embracing the opportunity to coach Oregon Football, much as he did with his introductory Press Conference which seems not so long ago.

"“If I can be known as the guy who kept winning after Chip Kelly, I’m good with that”"

Fall Practice starts today for the game on August 31st against Nicholls State and Helfrich and the Ducks are taking things much like Chip Kelly did – one day at a time.  The same can be said with the new building, but more like one step at a time.

Helfrich said the biggest issue with the new building is just getting around. One player has even gotten lost. You would think a new $68 million dollar Hatfield Dowlin Complex would have some sort of built in GPS so that you could do what the do on Star Trek and a voice would tell you where you are, but I guess that technology wasn’t installed.

Oregon Quarterback Marcus Mariota is ready for the 2013 season and has spent quite a bit of time in the weight room. On the field he is working on his decision making and is looking to be a presence and accept his teammates input when it comes to plays and being the leader Oregon needs at the Quarterback position.

"“If we continue to get better each and every day this team can do some incredible things”"

The folks at OregonLive.com have put together a running blog of the Performance Facility Tour from Monday afternoon – check out some of the pics, vines, and instagrams – pretty impressive.
