By Mike Vamosi
San Jose State put everyone on notice early in the season when they went to Palo Alto and gave PAC-12 champion Stanford all they wanted week one. New Colorado head coach Mike MacIntyre lost to the Cardinal 20-17 on the Farm but went 11-1 the rest of the season and 5-1 in their last season in the WAC.

New head coach Ron Caragher will look to continue his predecessor’s work as SJSU returns 12 starters, seven on offense and five on the defense. The Spartans won defeated Bowling Green 29-20 in the Military Bowl which was the school’s first bowl appearance since 2006. San Jose State also moves to the Mountain West Conference season.
Senior David Fales returns under center, he’s considered to be a NFL pick at 6’3 and 220 pounds. Fales is generating interest after throwing for 4,193 yards with 33 touchdowns to just nine interceptions. He’ll have four of his five top receivers from a season ago back.
The run game will have a different look as the team will rely on Tyler Ervin and Blake Jurich who had a combined 88 carries a season ago. Receiving wise leading WR senior Noel Grigsby Jr. who had 1,307 yards with nine TDs is back.
They’ll again match up with Stanford in Palo Alto with the meeting coming on Saturday, September 7 at 8 pm on the PAC-12 Network.
