With Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart on PUP List Is Door Open for Kenjon Barner?

Carolina Panthers Running Back Jonathan Stewart has been placed on the Regular Season Physically Unable to Perform(PUP) list because of his right ankle and Doctors want more time for him to heal. The sixth year back for the Panthers will be out for at least five games(Carolina has a bye in Week 4.)
With Stewart out of the lineup that certainly opens the door for Rookie and Former Oregon Duck Kenjon Barner to see some playing time early in the season, along with 8th Year Running Back De’Angelo Williams.
Barner showed some speed and scored his first Preseason touchdown against the Chicago Bears on August 9th. The Panthers won the game 24-17. The Oregon Product had 8 rushes for 33 yards and a touchdown. He also had one lost fumble in the game.
NFL Rosters are being cut (Tuesday to 75 – Saturday August 31st to 53.) It seems probable that Barner will make it through both days knowing that Stewart won’t be available for a while.
Carolina wraps up the NFL Preseason against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night. (4:30 pm PT)
