The KPNW Morning show of Bill Lundun and Robb Holloway caught up with Nicholls State Head Coach Charlie Stubbs(also was a coach at Oregon State(1985-1990) and Alabama(1998-2000) before heading to Nicholls.) The conversation started with his college history, where he’s been and his thoughts on Alabama now compared to when he was there.

The conversation then shifted to facing the Ducks and being 62 point underdogs. Stubbs is a teacher as well as a coach and gave the best response he could to what will likely be an overmatched Colonels team when all is said and done:

"It starts with a great attitude and effort, you have to play hard. Play the game, one play at a time. You kind of take it in segments….I just want to see us in the 4th Quarter in a position to win."

Stubbs then shifted to the goals for his team:

"Our goal is to win the Southland Conference, that’s it – and make the playoffs – that’d be great."

The NFL comes up as a topic and Nicholls has some players that play on Sundays – among them LeDarius Webb, Starting Corner for the Baltimore Ravens and Bobby Felder with the Minnesota Vikings.

Stubbs also talks about his team(99 percent of his players are local or from Louisiana), which is rather remarkable. It makes for easy recruiting trips, but Coach said if he needs to go get someone, he has the connections to start the process of making things happen.

Nicholls comes to Autzen on Saturday to face Oregon(1pm, Fox Sports 1)
