Oregon Ducks’ Thomas Injured Ankle Early in Game vs Cal, Will Know More on Monday
Oregon Running Back De’Anthony Thomas left early in the first half with an apparent injury.
It was a sloppy start for both Cal Bears and Oregon Ducks on Saturday night and after a Kickoff return to start the game, Oregon All purpose player De’Anthony Thomas appeared on tv replays to bend awkwardly on his left ankle. He has yet to return in the game. Rob Moseley from GoDucks.com, the Univerity of Oregon’s Football website said on Twitter than Thomas was seen walking on the sideline and talking with coaches, but he did not have a helmet in his hand. (This was about 10 minutes after he left the game.)
As is the Oregon Ducks policy they do not release any details of injuries of anykind. Oregon Running Back Byron Marshall has carried the load nicely carrying the ball in sloppy, rainy conditions 15 times for 106 yards and two touchdowns. At the time of this report the Ducks led the Bears 34-0 with just under 10 minutes left in the First Half.
The weather has played a big part so far leading to five fumbles from Cal and four Oregon recoveries. The field is wet and pretty sloppy(you can see the spray come up on big hits.) The rain continues to fall, but at the moment it is not monsoon like as it was earlier in the first half.
He returned to the sideline in the second half on crutches. After the game he said he ‘just rolled’ his right ankle.
"I’m very focused. I’ll get back out there when I canDe’Anthony Thomas on his injury"
Thomas did not have X rays at Autzen on Saturday but will see a Doctor on Monday. He was off of crutches in his postgame press conference.
