Weather or Not: Oregon and Cal Game Will Be Affected By the Weather
When I looked at the Weather Apps on my phone early this week there was the possibility that the Oregon Ducks would face the Cal Bears on Saturday Night is some not so pleasant weather. It looks like my WeatherBomb(app) predicted things correctly. Earlier this morning the National Weather Service and Accuweather Issued a High Wind Watch and High Wind Warning for the Eugene area.
"WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 3 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 8 PM PDTTHIS EVENING FOR ALL IN THE INTERIOR LOWLANDS OF EXTREMESOUTHWEST WASHINGTON AND NORTHWEST OREGON…A WIND ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN SUSTAINED WINDS ARE FORECAST TO BE31 TO 39 MPH OR GUSTS WILL RANGE BETWEEN 45 AND 57 MPH. WINDS OFTHESE MAGNITUDES MAY CAUSE MINOR PROPERTY DAMAGE WITHOUT EXTRAPRECAUTIONS. In a game that has been touted for most of the week for a game and it’s possible Air Raid from Oregon Quarterback Marcus Mariota and Cal Freshman QB Jared Goff, it now looks likely that passing records may not be set and the ground games will Win the Day. Of course, someone brought up this morning that when the weather disrupts a game it throws everything out the window. In some cases this is true, but I’m sure the below ground water containment system at Autzen can handle whatever mother nature throws for roughly four hours this evening and the Oregon Offense has the playmakers on the ground as well as through the air – See Three 100 yard Rushers against Tennessee a few weeks ago.
If your headed to the game prepare for a windy and rainy event. If, for some reason it’s just overcast and windy you can blame me for your preparation. Oregon I’m sure has watched the weather all week and will be as prepared as Ducks can be to do some Puddle Jumping tonight at Autzen.
Kickoff tonight is set for 7:37pm PT on Pac 12 Networks, our coverage begins at 6:30 from Autzen Stadium. Oregon vs Cal Livestream
