The decision has been discussed for weeks now among Trojan fans across the country. How much longer were bad decisions and losses going to be tolerated at USC? Well the answer came early Sunday morning. Lane Kiffin has been fired from his job as head coach of the USC Trojans. To make it even harder for fans his decision last night to put Star Wide Receiver Marquise Lee on punt return duty down 20+ led to a knee injury for Lee(a cart was needed to take him off the field.)

2011 was Kiffin’s best year as Head Coach as USC went 10-2. Last year showed so much promise the Trojans were at the #1 spot in the country to start the year, but finished  7-6 and ended the season unranked. The job in Southern California is still as far as I’m concerned one of  the premiere positions in college football. However in two years they have gone from the Top of the List to know an afterthought behind Oregon, Stanford, and even UCLA.

The loss to the Sundevils on Sunday was the 2nd of the season for Southern Cal. According to the school’s statement Athletic Director Pat Haden relieved Kiffin of his duties this morning when the team returned from Arizona State. The Trojans lost 62-41.
