CNNSI is reporting that Stanford’s Defensive line will be without their Captain and 5th Year Senior Defensive End Ben Gardner for the rest of the season. He tore a pectoral muscle in the victory over Oregon State this past weekend. This is not good news for the Cardinal considering that he was a key piece in their Defense this season and the Oregon Ducks are coming to town on November 7th.
Stanford and Oregon both have ‘improvement’ weeks ahead of their Thursday night matchup on the farm next week.
The Cardinal will look to fill the to Blake Lueders (3.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks) to help fill Gardner’s void according to Pac 12 Football Insider David Lombardi.
Last week Stanford travelled to Corvallis and picked up a win vs Oregon State 20-12. The Ducks hosted UCLA the same day and held the Bruins to 14 points for the game. UCLA Quarterback Brett Hundley could not find the endzone in the second half. Oregon won the game 42-14.
