I realize that this article did come out yesterday and depending on the outcome of Thursday this prediction could remain the same or change. Phil Steele has set Oregon and Alabama on the path to the BCS National Championship game in his latest post. There are also several other interesting matchups including the Rose Bowl where Stanford will face Ohio State. Virginia Tech will get fellow Pac 12 team and the Ducks Civil War rival in the Sun Bowl, and USC will take on Boise State in the Las Vegas Bowl.
Outside of the Pac 12 Conference Steele sees 2013 Oregon opponent Tennessee facing off with Louisville in the BBVA Compass Bowl. The Orange Bowl will be all Florida as Florida State takes on UCF.
There is a month of football left for several teams to make moves to Bowl Eligibility in the Pac 12. From the North Washington needs one win and Washington State needs two. In the South, Utah needs two victories and Colorado would need three to get to 6-5. The Buffs would need victories on three of their final four games against Washington, Cal, Utah and USC. It is possible, but not probable.
Oregon can add to their chances of getting to the National Championship on Thursday night(6pm, ESPN)
