What was supposed to be a spirited start for the Oregon Ducks 2013 Campaign has become a little muddy with the news  that Starting Point Guard Dominic Artis and Backup Ben Carter will be suspended indefinitely for selling team apparel.  Artis was expected to be a dynamic player for the Ducks in 2013. From the report the suspension which was self imposed by Oregon is expected to be nine games for both players according to DuckTerritory.com.

"I want to apologize to the University, to Coach Altman and to my teammates for selling team apparel. I regret my actions and do not want this situation to define me or my character.Dominic Artis on Breaking an NCAA rule and his suspension"

With the collection of talent that Dana Altman seems to collect Oregon should be able to weather the storm without Artis. Joseph Young, the 6 foot 2 transfer guard who recently was granted eligibility to play this season for the Ducks could likely handle the bulk of the loss. He is averaging 20 points per game last season for Houston and was the primary ball handler for Oregon’s first two exhibition games.

Artis was out for an extended period last season with a foot injury. At the time Oregon’s offensive production dropped about 10 points on average before his return.

Oregon starts the season on Friday night from Seoul South Korea vs Georgetown in the Armed Forces Classic (ESPN, 5pm PT)
