Oregon Ducks vs Utah: Three Things We Should See

It was announced late yesterday that the Utah Offense would be facing Oregon without its Starting Quarterback, which will certainly play into the outcome of this game. Utes Quarterback Travis Wilson has thrown 16 touchdowns, but also 16 interceptions this season. He is also more mobile than his backup Sophomore Adam Schulz. After defeats for both teams last week (Utah lost by a point to Arizona State), a victory will help take the sting away. So what do I see.
Oregon Quarterback Marcus Mariota Will Get Back to Being More Like Marcus Mariota
After Stanford held Oregon out of the endzone for most of the game last week, Mariota tried and failed at a valiant comeback effort on a Sprained MCL. We don’t know the extent of the injury at this point other than the fact that he is wearing a brace and practicing. He will play against Utah. I’m not sure if he will be running like his old self, but he certainly be passing the ball to his Wide Receivers.
De’Anthony Thomas Will Breakout for Two Touchdowns
Oregon still has a lot to play for this season and ever since he was hampered by an ankle injury against Cal last month Running Back De’Anthony Thomas has not looked like himself. I expect he will break out of his funk on Saturday. It could either be by a run or a punt return. This may be one of the last times he plays on the field for the Ducks so when he gets the ball it should be fun to watch.
Utah’s Defense Will Sack Mariota Twice
When you face a team that leads the country in sacks with 33 on the season you have to figure they are going to get to your quarterback at least once.
Oregon and Utah take the field at 1pm PT on Fox Sports 1.
