Oregon Men’s Basketball Moves Up to #17 in Latest Associated Press Poll, Face Utah Valley Tuesday

The Oregon Men’s Basketball team is slowly creeping up on the Top 15 after two solid victories to start the season. One in the Armed Forces Classic against Georgetown 82-75, and last week against Western Carolina in which Oregon scored over 100 points for the first time in close to two seasons in a 107-83 victory. In the game Transfer Joseph Young scored a season high 36 points en route to a Matthew Knight Arena high in points.
This week Oregon remains at home to face Utah Valley on Tuesday night. Following that game Oregon’s schedule picks up to more than one game each week as they face San Francisco on Sunday then hosts several teams for the Global Sports Hardwood Challege next weekend. Pacific, North Dakota, and Cal Poly will be in Eugene for the weekend tournament.
In this week’s AP Poll Arizona is the only other ranked team from the Pac 12. The Wildcats hold steady this week at #5.
Quick Glance at Tuesday’s Opponent, Utah Valley
The Utah Valley Wolverines(2-1) come to Eugene playing their second ranked oppenent in back to back games. They faced #8 Oklahoma State away and lost 93-40. They won their first two games this season at home against IUPUI and North Carolina A&T.

Utah is led by Senior Holton Hunsaker who is averaging 12 points and just under 4 rebounds per game this season.
