Oregon and Oregon State Tied at 17 at the Half

Before the game began it was annouced that the Starting Running back would be De’Anthony Thomas. After the opening kickoff, which went to Oregon State Thomas was on Special teams coverage and made the tackle, but was shaken up. Enter Thomas Tyner who got the start and began with a 40 yard run. Oregon State’s first drive ended in an interception on 4th Down to the Ducks Ifo Ekpre Olomu. De’Anthony Thomas and Thomas Tyner have to touchdowns on the ground for Oregon in the first half.

Oregon muffed a punt in the 2nd quarter which led to a missed Beaver field goal turning into 7 points after a running into the kicker penalty on the Ducks at the 11 minute mark.  Storm Woods carried the ball in for six. On the next possession after a 44 yard catch by Senior Josh Huff from Mariota Mark Helfrich’s team had to settle for a field goal from Matt Wogan making it 17-7.

Mannion and Oregon State were able to put together another solid drive mainly on the legs of Running Back Storm Woods who ripped off 31 yards on one play of the drive. Mannion to Woods a few plays later led to 4th and Goal at the Oregon 1. OSU decided to kick an 18 yard field goal making it 17-10.

On the next possession Mariota on the first play from scrimmage threw his third interception on the season at the 32 giving Oregon State a chance to tie the game before halftime. Mannion then went to work and tossed a 20 yard pass to Brandon Cooks with the ball at the Oregon 1 yard line. The play was reviewed and ended up being a touchback (in favor of the Ducks) so therefore Oregon ball at the 20 to end the first half. The Oregon QB threw another interception(2nd of the game). This time Oregon State capitalizes with a Mannion passing touchdown to Terron Ward from 6  yards out.

Oregon will get the ball to start the 2nd half.
