If you would have asked me at the beginning of the season where Oregon Basketball would be overall I would likely have told you the Men would be in the Top 20, with a loss or two and the Women…well, considering the way they started with a loss to Connecticut(yes, they were and still are the top team in the country) I would have thought .500 would be more likely. The Men are now 10-0 on the season and getting stronger with the addition of two players that were suspended to start the season in Dominic Artis and Ben Carter.

The Oregon Women’s team is welcoming back into the fold Liz Brenner following her play for Women’s Volleyball this year. The Ladies are 7-2 on the year and take on Cal Poly Friday(7:00pm PT, Pac 12 Live Stream) at Matthew Knight Arena. So far on the year they are averaging over 100 points per contest, which leads the nation for scoring. An impressive place to be considering the last few years. Another key ingredient in the success for both teams is health. There have been no injuries, that have led to extensive downtime for any player for either program so far this season.

The Oregon Men welcome BYU (8-4) on Saturday (7:30, Pac 12 Networks) to Matthew Knight Arena. Now may be a good time to get out and see both teams in action. Both are showing solid effort a third of the way through the 2013 season and it could be a special year for both teams.
