Oregon State is the highest ranked of the three at number two coming off a 52-13 season which included making it back to Omaha for the College World Series, after winning the conference title. Oregon checks in at number 11 after going 48-16 and came up short in the Eugene Regional losing to Rice. Defending National Champion UCLA who defeated Mississippi State in the CWS finals is just behind the Ducks at 12.

In the Perfect Game preseason rankings the Beavers again are ranked third behind Virginia and Cal State Fullerton. The Bruins are in front of the Ducks as the teams are eight and ninth ranked in the poll. Arizona State who finished 37-22-1 last year is ranked number 18.
