Oregon wasted no time in putting runs on the board Tuesday, their home opener and first of fifteen games in a row at PK Park. Catcher Shaun Chase pretty much put the game out of reach with a three run home run during a six run first inning for the Ducks. The Portland Pilots were not able to recover scoring two runs in the game off Gold during the fifth inning. Designanted Hitter J.B. Bryant continued his early season success with two hits and a run in four at bats. The Freshman is now hitting .556 for the season.

Now 8-0 on the season Oregon turns their focus to the first ranked opponent of the season this weekend as the Ducks welcome Cal State Fullerton to Eugene for three games. Coach George Horton’s former team has struggled to start the year and are currently 4-3 and on a two game winning streak. The Titans started the year against Washington State taking two of three. Last Friday night they likely planned to play one game, but ended up losing to San Francisco in 19 innings. Following the loss they rebounded with two weekend wins on Saturday and Sunday. In Game two of the three game series Sophomore Justin Garza pitched seven shutout innings in an 11-0 win. Sunday’s performance was even better as Junior Pitcher Grahamm Weist threw a complete game five hitter giving up one run though nine innings in a 5-1 win.

The series with the Titans begins on Friday(6pm PT) and continues through the weekend. on Saturday(2pm PT) and Sunday(12pm). There will be no television for the series, but they can be heard in Eugene on 1320AM and online at GoDucks.com
