The season of NFL Free Agency has officially begun. The clock started Tuesday afternoon and already several former Oregon players are making their splash with new teams. The biggest is former Cleveland Brown Safety TJ Ward who will now play for the Denver Broncos. Last month they were humiliated in the Super Bowl against the Seattle Seahawks. and along with Ward have already brought in some other top notch talent on the Defensive side of the ball. Defensive End DeMarcus Ware and Cornerback Aqib Talib have also signed with the Broncos.

Ward’s deal is for $24 million with $13 million guaranteed. In 2010 he was drafted 38th overall by the Cleveland Browns in 2010. He has played in every season of his NFL career and was hampered by an injury that cost him eight games in 2011(his second season). The former Oregon Safety has been solid in his career. Last season he broke out with 123 Tackles, 1.5 sack, 2 Interceptions, 1 forced fumble, and 10 passes defended.

He will look to start at Strong Safety for the Broncos in the Fall.
