When it comes to playing midweek games the Oregon baseball team may be a little rusty. Their last Tuesday/Wednesday series started back on March 4th, which ended up being a double header with Seattle due to the weather. Coming off their longest homestand of the year Oregon started a ten game road trip on Tuesday with a loss. Porter Clayton picked up the start for the Ducks and did not fare well giving up four hits and four runs in just three innings of work.

The bullpen also fell apart as Trent Paddon followed Clayton and gave up three runs in his two innings of work.  It was ultimately too much for George Horton’s Offense to overcome. However they did make it interesting. After four inning the score was 7-1 Dons. In the ninth inning Tyler Baumgarner his an RBI double scoring Mark Karaviotis bringing Oregon within four runs. Mitchell Tolman loaded the bases and the tying run was at the plate with just one out, but San Francisco pitcher Houston Hibbert got the job done striking out Kyle Garlick and J.B. Bryant to win the game.

Oregon and San Francisco are back at it on Wednesday at 2pm to close out a quick two game series before the Ducks head to Stanford for a three game set this weekend.
