Oregon Football Recruiting: Five Star Running Back Taj Griffin Commits to Ducks

Now that the 2014 recruiting class is on the practice field for the Oregon Ducks football team, it is time to turn to the 2015 Recruiting Class. One young man made his decision late on Thursday. It is a big one for Oregon. The Number One All Purpose Back in the Country, according to some, committed to the University of Oregon.

Taj Griffin is a Running Back from Powder Springs, Georgia(McEachern High School). He is 5 foot 10, 175 pounds and has run a 4.35 40 yard dash. He was recruiting by Running Backs Coach Gary Campbell according to 247Sports. There were apparently several other schools, including some in the Pac-12 Conference that were vying for the services of this five star athlete.

The Stanford Cardinal and USC Trojans also received visits and gave offers to Griffin. Ohio State and Florida State have also expressed interest. He visited the Oregon Ducks on March 17th. Scout.com ranks him the sixth best running back at the position and praise his strengths of acceleration, breakaway speed and vision. All good things when your a Running Back.

According to 247Sports Composite Rankings of the Pac-12 Conference 2015 Recruiting Class the Oregon Ducks moved up to 5th place, with just three recruits so far. Griffin joins  4-star Offensive Guard Zach Okun and 3- star Tight End Jacob Breeland.
