The Oregon Baseball team coming off a nine game winning streak last week entered an important Pac-12 Conference series with in-state rival Oregon State. Both teams were ranked in the Top 25 at the time. Fast forward to today and Oregon is out of the Top 25 Baseball rankings and the Oregon State Beavers are ranked the number two team in the country. The Oregon Ducks went into Corvallis needing two wins and came away with three losses. They now find themselves dropped from third place in the Conference to fifth and a series at home this weekend with a team that was expected to compete for the Pac-12 Conference Championship.

However it has not been a good season for the Arizona Wildcats. They find themselves one game out of last place in the Pac-12(the cellar dweller is Utah). Oregon is four and a half games out of first place, but just a half game out of third place. Some wins against the Wildcats could get them back on track from the rough weekend against the Beavers. If you are headed out to any of the games this weekend bring sunscreen as it is expected to be great weather in Eugene for early May. Also, Saturday’s game is expected to be near a sellout with the Oregon Football Spring game happening several hours before at 11am from Autzen Stadium.

All three games of the series with Arizona are televised on the Pac-12 Network. Friday will see Tommy Thorpe on the mound(7pm), Saturday will see 9-0 Starter Jeff Gold(3pm) and the Sunday series finale(4pm) will have Starter Brando Tessar taking the mound.
