The Oregon Ducks looked to make it two games in  a row in a return to Pac-12 Conference play on Friday night, the start of a three game series at Arizona State. Oregon Ducks Starting Pitcher Tommy Thorpe, who has had shining moments and not so shining moments this season had one of his rougher outings, but George Horton’s team was able to hold on for a 5-4 Conference win over the Sun Devils.

Thorpe threw five innings and battled allowing two runs and four hits while striking out five. He did earn his eighth win of the season and Closer Jake Reed closed out the Sun Devils in the ninth inning to pick up his seventh save of the 2014 season. The Oregon Ducks Offense got off to an early start night  as Oregon Sophomore Catcher Josh Graham drove in the first run of the game in the second inning driving in Mitchell Tolman who was hit by a pitch to start the inning. Oregon made the most of their opportunities at the plate.
