Oregon Running Back De’Anthony Thomas – USAToday

The Kansas City Chiefs announced on Friday they have agreed to a contract for fourth round draft pick De’Anthony Thomas. The former speedster from Oregon was picked by Andy Reid and will likely be used as a return man. According to Charles Davis from NFL.com he envisions a different NFL Career path for DAT in converting from offense to defense and becoming a Cornerback. Whether that will happen or not remains to be seen and it is likely that the Chiefs will use Thomas as an Offensive Weapon over Defense, but it is an interesting thought.

Thomas is the only signed player with the Kansas City Chiefs who does not have a number yet so fans may have to wait before purchasing a Chiefs jersey for their favorite former Oregon player. In his three year career with the Oregon Ducks, Thomas scored forty six touchdowns including twenty six on the ground, fifteen through the air, three on kick returns and one via punt return.

De’Anthony is the third announced former member of the Oregon Ducks to sign with a team following the Philadelphia Eagles signing both Defensive End Taylor Hart and Wide Receiver Josh Huff.
