FINAL Report

Over the course of the last five weeks the Oregon Ducks Softball team have not only claimed their place as the top team in the country and dominated on both the mound and the basepads. Last weekend Oregon took care of Wisconsin in three games with solid pitching from Cheridan Hawkins, the Ducks workhorse this season. In sweeping the regional last weekend, the number one team will host a best of three Super Regional series against the number sixteen team in the country, and also their second Big 10 team in a row in Minnesota starting on Saturday night at 7pm.

The two teams have one key element in common in that the Golden Gophers Coach was formerly Oregon Coach Mike White’s assistant at Oregon so I would think the teams would know their tendencies heading into Game 1 on Saturday Night. The Oregon Ducks are looking to break a streak against Big Ten teams. Last season they lost the Super Regional round at Howe Field to Nebraska and are looking at redemption in moving on to Oklahoma City where the top eight teams that get through this weekend will play for a National Championship next weekend.

We will have live coverage of Saturday’s Game one starting at 6:30pm on Facebook and Twitter. You can also find updates through out the Game by searching #EDNSports on Facebook or Twitter.

The first game of the best of three series will be at 7pm(ESPN2), Game two is set for Sunday at 2pm(ESPN). If a Game three is necessary it will be following Game two at 5pm on ESPN2.
