2014 Oregon Football, Eleven Impact Players: Quarterback Marcus Mariota

facebooktwitterreddit

Oregon ended last season with two rough losses on the road, to Stanford and at Arizona. Much of the reasoning, for me, is that Oregon Quarterback Marcus Mariota was injured last season in the key stretch. With time during the offseason to rest and rehab. For the Oregon Ducks Quarterback the pressure and spotlight will not be brighter than the 2014 College Football season. It is a year where high expectations for this team are expected, even though we are in the summer months and Fall Camp is just over a month away.

More from Oregon Ducks

Mariota will look to build on his season from 2013 and take the Oregon Ducks and fans for quite the ride. There is plenty of buzz leading up to two key matchups for the Oregon Ducks in 2014 with Michigan State and Stanford both visiting Autzen Stadium. Marcus Mariota is also likely among the frontrunners for the Heisman Trophy, along with Florida State Quarterback Jameis Winston who is also returning for the Seminoles. In the first year of the College Football Playoff the Oregon Ducks are in the middle of it all.

With a great amount of surrounding talent, Mariota is the glue that will hold the Oregon Ducks Offense together and is the biggest impact player heading into the 2014 season. The team begins Fall Practice on August 4th.
