The injury bug this time of year is usually not something we hear much about for NFL Players, but two rising stars have been bitten and the preseason has not even started yet. Last month Dallas Cowboys Linebacker Sean Lee tore his ACL and on Tuesday Buffalo Bills Defensive Rookie of the Year and former Oregon Ducks star Kiko Alonso tore an ACL while working out in Oregon. NFL players are currently on a break until camp officially begins on July 18th. For the Buffalo Bills it is in Rochester, New York.

One area that the Buffalo Bills are not short is at Linebacker where several capable athletes can fill the void including third year Linebacker Nigel Bradham and third round draft pick from the 2014 NFL Draft Preston Brown. The Bills also have Veteran Takeo Spikes on the roster. It is a disappointment that Alonso, a rising star in the NFL will have to take the 2014 season to rehab his knee and get healthy. He also had offseason hip surgery to fix a torn labrum suffered last season. It is also possible that the Bills look to a trade to fill the void, if they find someone to their liking in the next few months.

The Buffalo Bills kick off the 2014 Preseason in the Hall of Fame Game against the New York Giants on August 3rd. The game will be broadcast on NBC.
