Earlier this month former Oregon Ducks Forward Mike Moser, who was not taken in the NBA Draft had some options in front of him. He decided to sign with the Boston Celtics and play in the NBA Summer League. In his first game, against the Miami Heat he made a statement. With Boston, Moser saw opportunity and the team used what they saw in Moser to their advantage to beat Miami on Saturday.

More from Oregon Ducks

Moser played seventeen minutes, scored seventeen points and had three steals in the victory. He also had a key three point shot with two minutes and seven seconds to go in the game to seal the victory for Boston. The Summer League is not necessarily for current NBA players so the usual suspects were not present and playing in the game. The Boston Celtics did pick a name familiar to some at the University of Oregon in Oklahoma State star Marcus Smart in the NBA Draft.

Smart had a solid performance in his Summer League debut with ten points and five rebounds. Smart faced Oregon several years ago in the NCAA Tournament as was one of the more electrifying players in college basketball at the time.

Moser will likely be back on the floor on Monday at Noon Pacific Time as the Boston Celtics take on the Indiana Pacers in the NBA Summer League. The game will be broadcast on NBA TV.
