LaMichael James Dislocates Elbow in @49ers Training Camp, Out for a Month
On Saturday it was announced that San Francisco 49ers Running Back Kendall Hunter was lost for the season following a drill in Training Camp on Friday. I wrote then that that may open the door for former Oregon Ducks Running Back LaMichael James to compete for the backup running back slot this season along with Marcus Lattimore and Carlos Hyde. On Sunday in another training camp drill James injured his shoulder and arm. It was at the time called an upper body injury and to add insult to it the former Oregon Ducks Running Back was carted off the field.

LaMichael James has had his growing pains at the NFL level over the last two seasons and has turned into a decent return man for the 49ers fighting through the adversity of injuries.
Last season, his second with San Francisco, James carried the ball 12 times for 59 yards and returned the ball for two hundred fifty one yards on punts and seven hundred thirty eight yards on kickoffs. It was announced later on Sunday that James has a dislocated elbow and will likely miss a month, or the rest of training camp and a good part of the preseason in the NFL. Hopes were his for LaMichael James to have a breakout season in 2014 and that may still be the case, but now it will be a little tougher. He goes from the possible second string in the first week of NFL Training Camp and returns to the back of the line.
The San Francisco 49ers are expected to compete for the Super Bowl in 2014 and start the season travelling to Dallas to face the Cowboys on Sunday, September 7th. The game is set for a 10:25am Pacific Time kickoff on FOX.
