Boise State and Kansas Boast New Uniforms for 2014, But Oregon Still Looks Better

Every year around this time, several teams around the country look to show off something different when it comes to the uniforms worn on the field. Several weeks ago, Michigan, possibly by mistake, revealed a new look for the matchup with Penn State this season. This week both Boise State and Kansas revealed new looks. The Broncos have a new look helmet which actually looks cool with a dark blue helmet and lighter blue outline of a Bronco jumping out. For many years, when it comes to innovation the Oregon Ducks have been at the top. The look has also been more streamlined over the years and this season looks to be no exception for on the field uniforms.

More from Oregon Ducks

In fact, it feels like the Oregon Ducks have left other teams to play catchup. Sometimes with not so good results. Case and point, the Kansas Jayhawks. The new look for them will have opponents seeing a lot of red. It has been pegged as Crimson Chrome, and even has its own hashtag on Twitter. That is one step that Oregon has yet to take for their uniforms…a ‘name’ for them so..kudos…I guess to Kansas on that one?

Regardless it is nice to see that others have taken some of the reigns from the Oregon Ducks to work redesigns of uniforms. Of course Oregon Ducks fans will likely have to wait until August 30th to see what Oregon has in store, but that is what we have become accustomed to in Eugene. The Oregon Ducks take on South Dakota on Saturday, August 30th at 7:30pm Pacific Time on the Pac-12 Networks.
