5 Worst PAC-12 South Games for 2014
By Mike Vamosi
Earlier this week we looked at the five worst games that teams from the north division will play and today we do the same with the south. Did teams do a better job than their northern rivals or will this be a tough chore?

Let’s examine PAC-12 South schedules and see what games just aren’t that appealing for you the fans. With here are the five worst games for the PAC-12 South –
1 – Arizona State v. Weber State Thursday, August 28 at 7:30 pm on the PAC-12 Network
How did this make the list?: Weber State hasn’t been a threat in the Big Sky Conference for a few seasons now and while I get why they’re playing this game why did ASU schedule it? Yes, you need to open with someone but non-conference games against New Mexico and at Notre Dame this game sticks out like a sore thumb.
2 – Utah v. Idaho State Thursday, August 28 at 4:30 pm on the PAC-12 Network
How did this make the list?: This will actually be the lead-in for our number one game on the PAC-12 Network so prep yourself for the opening Thursday. Idaho State is another Big Sky Conference team of the FCS but the Bengals are awful (worst than Weber State) but I get Utah needs the wins. Credit Utah for their other non-conference games this season with Fresno State and at Michigan but this one no thanks.
3 – Colorado at UMass Saturday, September 6 at Noon on ESPN3
How did this make the list?: Probably should be higher on this list given that the Buffs are going cross country to play a game that isn’t even on TV but internet only. Sure Colorado gets the chance to play at Gillett Stadium home of the New England Patriots but. Massachusetts was awful last season so why play a game that really does little for you?
4 – Utah at Colorado Saturday, November 29 with game time and TV TBD
How did this make the list?: Not fair to either team really but that just shows that PAC-12 South schools have decent non-conference schedules and conference games will be good (hopefully). Just a few seasons ago CU spoiled the Utes chance of winning the division and well that’s been really the lone highlight for these conference newcomers.
5 – UCLA v. Memphis Saturday, September 6 at 7 pm on the PAC-12 Network
How did this make the list?: I honestly don’t have an issue with UCLA hosting Memphis between games at Virginia and “at” Texas in Arlington but here we are. The Tigers aren’t great and many probably were unaware they play in the American Athletic Conference.
Next week we’ll do a top 10 of the best game on the PAC-12 schedule with half on Tuesday and the rest on Thursday
