Ducks in the NFL: Kansas City RB De’Anthony Thomas to Sit for Sunday Opener
Former Oregon Ducks Running Back De’Anthony Thomas showed off what he can do several weeks ago with an electifying return in the preseason. Thomas suffered a hamstring injury late at practice on Wednesday and has been declared doubtful to play in the Kansas City Chiefs season opener on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.

Thomas was the fourth round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs and he has been used mainly as a return man in the preseason. He made his presence felt early in the NFL Preseason running back a punt return for a touchdown against Cincinnati. His NFL debut will now have to wait. Of course replacing someone with De’Anthony Thomas speed is not going to be easy, but Kansas City will look to use the next man up philosophy and see who they can come up with for the game against Tennessee on Sunday.
According to the Kansas City Star, the organization is not worried much about Thomas at this point in the season. He will heopfully be back on the field in his first game in the National Football League in the regular season within a few weeks. Kansas City and Tennessee face off on Sunday at 10am Pacific Time from Kansas City. The game will be televised on CBS.
In his final season with the Oregon Ducks Running Back De’Anthony Thomas in 2013 he rushed for 1,353 all purpose yards for the Oregon Ducks.
