Former Oregon Ducks, TJ Ward and Jairus Byrd, Make List of Top NFL Safeties
The National Football League is in full force as Week Two gets into gear. NFL.com recently released a list of the top safeties in the league and two Oregon Ducks made the Top Ten list of Power Rankings. T.J. Ward amd Jairus Byrd were named to the list from NFL Writer Wesserling. Byrd plays for the New Orleans and Ward plays for the Denver Broncos. Both teams are in action this week with Denver hosting Kansas City at 1:25 Pacific Time on Sunday. The Saints face Cleveland in Ohio Sunday at 1pm Pacific Time.

Ward picked up three tackles in the season opening win against the Indianapolis Colts, 31-24. Byrd had five tackles and a forced fumble in a 37-37 loss at Atlanta in Week 1. T.J. Ward and Jairus Byrd are entering their fifth and sixth seasons in the National Football League. Both players have moved to different team during their NFL Careers.
Byrd was drafted by the Buffalo Bills and Ward by the Cleveland Browns.
The top safety on the list is Earl Thomas from the Seattle Seahawks. Byrd ranks second on the list with T.J. Ward coming in ninth. Ward played at Oregon from 2006-2009 and overcame some injuries in his time with the Ducks. Byrd was with Oregon from 2006 to 2009.
